What is he?
It was claimed that Tony Hsiung was not online on October 7, but he was speaking in the message boards on the same day, contradicting the article directly.
He has been using people’s accounts to hint towards things that he wants us to investigate – maybe to cover something up or maybe to genuinely direct us towards the truth? Then, he is the person who decided to label those same accounts as belonging to people infected with CMD, undermining the messages that HE wrote.
There are rumors that Tony is an AI, likely based on information from human editors.
Presumably, he is a real person, and has appeared in person with Xu Shaoyong (trusting the cert on the image). However, people have been faked to the media before, including Tyler Cardenas post 2042 (my speculation), which involved portraying him interacting extensively with human actors. Also, it is not unheard of for people to transfer the rights to their likeness to other people, and it is automatic upon death.
So it seems to me that there are multiple people/entities that are using “Tony” to do things on Omnipedia. It’s not necessarily AI, as it’s not unheard of for people to seem to split into multiple (Efrim Waite, Charlemagne Cabrera?), but it might be.
He is/was supposed to give every article a final pass (removed Oct 4), and has/had some interaction with the human editors, given that they were able to tell if he is online. So that is his “editor” persona, and I think the one that is most likely the human one, if one exists. It is probably also the one that’s doing the edit history deletes.
The person who is posting on the message boards doesn’t do very much past saying that everything is fine. It’s unlikely that it is the same person as the person editing the articles – if he seemed offline on Oct 7 to the human editors, I believe them.
Finally, there is whoever/whatever is taking over people’s accounts and posting as them. There are at least 3 “motives” involved.
What happened to him on Oct 7?
October 7 is when they rolled out the CMD diagnosis alerts on some people’s profiles. The timeline lines up really well - I think October 4 is when Tony started posting from people’s accounts.
One big change since he was supposedly offline was the amount of articles published has gone down to 1 a day from ~7 a day. So that makes me think that he WAS giving articles their final approval, and maybe that responsibility was given to someone else afterwards? If I was to speculate, the human-AI editor conflict could have been involved in this.
What has he been hinting at?
Sentiments Tony has expressed using other people’s accounts (not complete):

- Cengal rose suspiciously quickly? [1,2,3]
- Spencer Hagen got the credit for work that he and Connie Muren did together [1]
- Xi Jinping wanted to enter G6 quickly due to his CMD condition [1]
- Dismissing UI glitch [1]
- Claiming that actual posts were faked [1]
I hoped that making this list would clear things up but it did not. I think it’s notable that he didn’t ever mention Adira/A-DIRA until yesterday, and made a very… direct post, espousing the rogue AI theory. I think that whoever is taking over our accounts doesn’t have access to information that we don’t have.
This was a lot of words to say that I think they’re just messing with us, but I do think that something weird happened when Tony disappeared for one day. I didn’t really speculate on the AI rumor, but if he WAS an AI, his behavior on the message board could be a ghost layer-type-thing.
