I don’t know what are your current theories, but mine point out towards Adira being a sentient AI born out of G6’s massive calculation capabilities and its access to a lot of people’s live brain data. This entity would take actions that ensure its own existence and continuity by influencing people to develop G6 in their countries and killing people that might shift people’s opinions towards refusing it (journalists, scientists, politicians).
This might explain the series of murders related to G6, the creation of secret hubs that host G6 servers, the whole plague and cover ups that led to accepting the neural colloids at a global scale.
This theory is kinda supported by some in-game elements:
- Cyd Harrel, quantum physicist, thinks the quantum tech of G6 might lead to the “emergent development” of sentient AI.
- the whole SKYNET (2045) plot refers to exactly this scenario, hinting that people deem it plausible or that someone desperately wants to convince others it might happen.
