Geez, flashbacks…. After fresh beginnings I knew something was off even back then, and now he’s been banned for not being real! The stand with Rads thing was wrong, but it was weird how everyone let it go just cause of this bot’s (tbf) decent acting. The Poingdestre case puts the whole situation into a new light too, guess Euphoria was up to something this whole time.
I’m not clear on what exactly they did to Cardenas, though, is it “him” or just his name and face? I would have said he’s probably living in Orbitat but it doesn’t use AI to generate properties, I think. It makes me think Euphoria just generates something to show their audiences whenever necessary… it’s kinda sad for his family. (Though… could he be the brother that died?)
The Xu Shaoyong article features an update that mentions something called persona rights:
Maybe Tyler Cardenas is a real person who licensed or sold the rights to his likeness to Euphoria? I wonder what he’s thinking of the current controversy…
It would be pretty weird just walking around, hearing that “you” just told everyone it’s totally safe to inject colloids, lol. I think it’s unlikely that Cardenas voluntarily gave up persona rights, cause he’s acted and gone to school for acting his entire life and he’d have to stop. But it could be related to Renato’s death or some other serious event in his life. That bit about persona rights transferring to next of kin upon death has me thinking.
