While I don’t think Connie had any hand in the attack on Shaoyong’s helicopter (it feels more like the attack was a means of putting a stop to her plans), I do get the sense that it inadvertently ended up aiding her cause of loosening G6’s grip on the world. The death of Shaoyong led to Second Advent’s campaign of violence in the US, which resulted in the destruction of several G6 hubs, presumably stopping the brainjacking for anyone near those hubs. There’s also the suicides among the members of the Latent Space Church, which probably includes some wealthy backers of G6. Singapore is also short a G6 hub following the bombing of the DotDesign Museum. And this one is unrelated to any of the above, but there was a suspected cyberattack on G6 in Indonesia on September 28.
All of that could add up to a greater chance of the news about ADIRA getting through!
